Obedience vs Compromise

flying eagle

God is bidding His people to abandon compromise and leap fully into obedient surrender and faith. Compromise has robbed God’s people too long. Compromise is a friend of disbelief, fear, procrastination, complaining, and self-centeredness. Compromise is a master deceiver that has come to water down the Word of God.

A walk with God is not about following a ritualistic set of instructions for good living. It’s a love relationship that will lead us to the cross and into the highways and byways of life to love and care for the sick, oppressed, poor, lost and rejected. While the world is preoccupied by what it can acquire for self, we must be ever willing to love even the so called unlovable and be instruments of God to bring Him honor, glory and praise.

Has break-through eluded you? Consider carefully if there is something God has asked you to do, but you have left on the back burner.

Procrastination favors doing the comfortable, easy and familiar things first. Don’t let your blessings pass you by. Do what God calls you to do promptly so you can experience the fullness of God’s blessing and not be left empty-handed.

Compromise has made friends with sluggishness and half-heartedness. Compromise grows weary, gives in and gives up before God’s promises ever manifest.

Hebrews 10:35-36 states, “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”

My friends wait on God, renew your mind with the Word of God and receive His mighty power.

Do not be satisfied with going forward in your own strength and understanding.

The Word of God in Isaiah 40:31 teaches us, “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Galatians 6:9 promises, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

We can no longer be okay with passing up what God has for us now. Pull off the chains of fear and complaint that have been forged by reacting to what is seen and heard through your natural senses.

Grab hold of God’s hand and move forward in faith. Hebrews 10:38 reads, “Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Do not retreat at the voice of the Goliath’s. Run toward the Goliath’s as David did with the assurance of victory.

Consider what Caleb said after spying out the Promised Land, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30b).

Carefully consider your testimony or your words in respect to what God has called you to do and where God has called you to go.

Revelation 12:11 AMP states, “And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].”

Revelation 12:11 AMP uses the words, “the utterance of their testimony.” Utterance refers to what is spoken. What do you speak about your situation? Consistently speak the promises of God over your situation and watch evil flee and God move in with great power.

Where is your field of harvest? Don’t abandon it because you see giants in the land. Overcome and possess the good land. Don’t just overcome, but possess your field of harvest by inviting the Holy Spirit to come in with great power. Fill that field with the active works of God. Remember a land left idle can easily become hard and overrun with weeds. So tend it. Be active in what God has called you to do.

It’s time to declare, compromise no more. It’s time to give obedience its proper place. It’s time to believe God for His renewing power. It’s time to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (see Hebrews 12:2).

It’s time to utter a testimony of faith over our circumstances. It’s time to put into action the plans and purposes God has called to come forth now. No more delay by fear. No more complacency by declaring; I’m inadequate.

No more dwelling on circumstances and complaining.

Today is the day to declare, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). Today is the day to shout, Triumph!

Today is the day to declare our covenant rights as children of God. Be willing and obedient, so that you can enjoy a good and abundant harvest (see Isaiah 1:19).
